Racing Sea Level to the Stars!!??
Preparing for this epic bike race up Mauna Kea Volcano in August. Sea to Stars will start at Mauna Lani sea level then climb for about 50 miles up to 9200ft. (visitors center) The summit tops off almost 14,000ft. Getting some serious hill training these days. This weekend I will attempt sea level to about 6000ft up Kaloko Road above my house! At one point the grade gets to be about 17% for short distance! Mostly between 6-11%. Good-times. I will try and post images during my training. Also, I should get some good hill training in while I head back East to Pennsylvania mountains for some fun with family!
