Ironman is a powerful experience and I was lucky enough to race Hawaii twice. There are so many inspirational stories and amazing individuals who show up at the start line. Not too many people can say they raced Hawaii Ironman and it was a privilege for me to participate. Hawaii Ironman holds a special place in my heart and always will.
Hawaii is a special place and it takes special individuals to tackle this course. It takes physical strength and even more mental strength to conquer her. She can be wicked and she can be your worst enemy at times. Never stop believing in yourself, always move forward and never think about stopping, if this thought does cross your mind, then the race has beaten you.
It also takes a very special group of highly dedicated and talented individuals to make this race happen in Kona year after year. Without the tireless efforts and army of volunteers this race would not exist. Expressing your "thanks (Mahalo)" and acknowledging the volunteers on race day is priceless. That is their "pay check" for a job well done!
You are an Ironman if you lined up at the start line. You become an Ironman Champion when you cross the finish line and nobody can take that away from you. Make the last mile of the race last forever, for its the best feeling you will ever have!
2008 Ford Hawaii Ironman World Triathlon Championship is Sat Oct 11th. Reach for your dreams and make them happen. Never stop believing because "Anything is Possible".

After watching your excellent video I will miss not being there this year, whether to watch or take part. Time you did the race again, I think.
