The Excitement Begins!

July 5-27, 2008
3,500km
21 Stages
2 rest days
2 individual time trials
20 teams with 9 riders each
Longest tour was in 1936 at 5,745km
First tour was held in 1903

It's that time again.
This is one of about 4 sporting events I glue myself to the TV to follow.
The others would be; Notre Dame football in the fall, the ML Baseball World Series & Tennis Grand Slam events! (ever two years the Olympics)
I love sports, all kinds of sports. The Tour has a huge adrenaline rush for me similar to the recent Olympic swim trails where I find myself on the edge of my seat. I love the competition and rush along with the discipline and dedication that comes with each sport.

Stage 1 of the Tour: Sat July 5
197.5km Brest to Plumelec

stage 2 Sun July 6 from Saint-Brieuc to Auray at 164.5km (102miles)

Don't worry, I won't post everyday about the Tour. So you can check back to see what topic I choose, perhaps every other day!

If you are interested, Macca is battling it out in Frankfurt against Faris. Normann was sick and did not start the race. See Ironmanlive for coverage.
