I was stumped as to what to cook until I watched these wild turkey's walk across my lawn just before dinner! Hmmmmm, that was an easy answer. Now, just to catch one of these birds and clean it up......yummy! It sounds like the fall season thing to do. Is it Turkey hunting season yet? Doesn't matter, they walked right up to my front door, so this falls under trespassing and 9/10ths of the law possession!!!
BBQ Turkey anyone?
After an unsuccessful attempt at capturing the elusive wild Turkey I decided I would not starve tonight. My friend left a recipe for an Empanada the other day. Thought I would give it a shot!
Photo looks good doesn't it? Would you take a bite?
Can't have this Empanada without something to wash it down with. So I thought I would "grab a Heiny"! (is this okay Mel? I didn't grab anyones heiny!")
Yes, that is a Costco 54oz back of colored nuts!! Should I just melt the whole bag and drink it?
What a great diet I've been keeping lately. I can't wait to see what else I can come up with this week!!!
Now I'm off to "drop the kids off at the pool".
Cheers!

Thanks for the recipe. I greatly appreciate recipes that are simple to understand. I have roasted a turkey before (I was also fortunate to have an expert a phone call away to tell me how to determine if it was cooked enough or not.) If you see the turkeys again, ask a Pacific islander to come round and in 30 seconds they will have caught it and plucked it. Anyway, you need to eat well to live a healthy life. If you really can't cook then marry someone who enjoys cooking, writing recipes and can already cook well. If they can't already cook, chances are that they never will.
Well I am glad you did not grab anyone else's "Heiny"...or maybe you should to add some excitement to your life instead of chasing wild turkeys and sitting around getting "phat"...so go and get you some "Heiny" DB:)
Does this mean you're returning to blog world? If yes, wooohooo! How's the job hunt? What's new in the LOST world?
That's my kind of diet! And that's why I look like a stripper and not a triathlete (someone else wrote that somewhere, but not about me, I just thought it applied).
Glad you're back in Blog World- I've missed your great humor!
Have fun cookin'-
Re your comment, the pool has lane lines painted on the bottom. It is a free for all, but I have not been in there with more than about 6 other people at once, and several are faster than me, so mostly serious swimming. If any of your friends would like a good place to train for the winter, they are welcome to come here. It has a good deck if they like tanning, too. And they don't have to look like triathletes.
Mels comment is so funny! Yep, shoulda grabbed a really heiney!
Glad you like the empananda and are back to blogging!
